Round 13: South Sydney versus Cronulla-Sutherland
Congratulations to Damien Cook, Angus Crichton, Dane Gagai and, new Queensland Captain, Greg Inglis for being selected for Stare of Origin Game One.
We are four straight and our backs are still against the wall as this week we are playing Cronulla-Sutherland without our four Origin representatives. No excuses as those that have been slotted in have a point to prove.
Check out the Rabbitohs team lineup.
The Outsider’s Fearless Five
Stand and be counted
Cronulla-Sutherland will be going into this game feeling confident and relaxed after winning six straight plus they are up against a Souths side without four of their attacking weapons.
This is the type of game that John Sutton and Sam Burgess need to take control of and inspire the younger players to play out of their skins. If we come away with a victory this will build a lot of confidence and belief within the list that we can really make a shake of it.
Centre of attack
We have an interesting centre pairing this week with Braidon Burns and Hymel Hunt. I am not too sure what to make of it as both players have a lot of improvement in their game especially defence wise.
Farah’s no slouch
The coach potatoes celebration of Damien Cook making Origin were cut short when realising that Robbie Farah was playing instead.
Luckily the common fan respects Robbie Farah and know what he’s capable of achieving.
Let’s hope that Robbie creates a few selection headaches after his performance this Friday.
The injection of Tyrell Fuimaono off the bench will be a sight to see tonight. He only knows how to go at 110% and having returned from a Round 2 injury last week he will be wanting to secure a regular first grade spot.
It’s the first day of winter and conditions will be cold and wet. The game will be won in the forwards and with the likes of Gallan, Fifita, Lewis and Graham in the Cronulla-Sutherland’s pack it’ll be nothing more than an arm wrestle for the full 80.
The Outsider’s prediction
The big difference is that Souths are missing four players due to Origin while Cronulla-Sutherland are only missing one. The expectation for most is that Cronulla-Sutherland will walk over Souths but with the likes of Reynolds, Farah, Sutton and the Burgess brothers playing there should be no excuses. Margin will be below 8 in this contest.
Wherever you’re watching the game, I hope you have a good one. I’ll be back after the game to give you my verdict.
